Things That Feel Illegal to Enjoy Alone as a Girl🤫🥂

I am going to be honest. Some things feel weird to admit. Illegal, even. Not actually illegal, of course, but so oddly personal that saying them out loud feels like handing someone your unlocked phone.
They are small habits, quiet rituals. The kind of things you do when no one if watching and somehow hope no one ever finds out about. But for the sake of this girls blog, I'm exposing us. Maybe you feel seen. Maybe you pick up a new oddly specific habit to enjoy in private.
Doing a full skincare routine like you’re filming a Vogue Beauty Secrets video you narrate in your head
You angle your face to an imaginary camera. You pat in serums like you are sponsored. Bonus points if you start "vlogging" your life for no reason.
Trying on outfits for an event that does not exist
You stand in front of the mirror, you pose, you turn sideways. There is no party. No plan. Just vibes!
Rewatching the same comfort show instead of starting a new one
You know every line, every scene, and yet it feels safer than committing to something new.
Listening to sad music when you are perfectly fine
You are not heartbroken. You are not upset. You just want to feel dramatic while staring at the ceiling.
Rearranging your room at midnight
Suddenly, at an unreasonable hour, your room is unacceptable and must be transformed immediatley.
Taking mirror pictures you will never post
You take at least fifteen, you admire them, you delete them. The ritual is the point.
Romanticizing making tea or coffee
You move slower and you use your favorite coffee mug. You act like you are in a movie montage for absolutely no reason.
Sitting on your bed doing absolutely nothing but thinking
No phone, no music. Just you and your thoughts having an unplanned meeting.
Reading old chats or journal entries
You revisit old versions of yourself like you are flipping through a well loved book.
Daydreaming fake scenarios before sleeping
Or staring out of the window with music in the background, pretending life is a cinematic masterpiece.
None of these things are embarrassing. They are soft little pieces of girlhood we rarely admit to enjoying. So consider this your permission slip to keep them. Proudly. Privately. Peacefully.
